1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer. Today we're gonna take a look at this Lionshead 15-inch by 6-inch Liger, matte black, aluminum trailer wheel. That's a five on 4-1/2-inch bolt pattern. Now this is an aluminum wheel. It's very durable, lightweight, and rust proof. And we mentioned the design.
It's an attractive Liger series, which you can see is a nice five-spoke design, has a nice all matte black finish to it. And then if you look on the spokes right on the edge of the spokes here, it has a machine finished on the edge, gives a little shine to the wheel. They do use an automotive grade clear coat finish on the front to help protect from scuffs and scratches. One of the nice features I like on this wheel is they use these steel inserts here in the lug nut wells and that's designed to help keep your wheel securely in place on the trailer hub. Those steel inserts help prevent your holes from elongating when you torque down your lug nuts and eliminates the need for constant re-tightening of the lug nuts.
If you notice right over here, it does include the valve stent, which is all installed, ready to go. Now it does not come with the center cap. If you do want a center cap, we do sell those separately on our website. You do wanna make sure to get one that'll have the same diameter as this pilot hole right here. 'Cause when you install that center cap, it'll go through this hole.
The diameter on the pilot hole is 3.19-inches. Now this wheel does meet the DOT, Department of Transportation, specification and it meets the SAE J1204 standards. A few dimensions on this, when we say 15-inch diameter, what we're measuring is inside to inside or bead seat to bead seat. So you can see if we take our tape measure and if we go all the way across, there's your 15-inch diameter. The width on the wheel is gonna be the same way.
It's measured inside the inside or bead seat to bead seat. So there's your 6-inches wide, and this wheel does have a bulk pattern of five on 4-1/2-inches, you can see here. And if you wanted to measure the bolt panel on a wheel like this, it's an odd number of lugs. In this case, five. What you have to do is pick any one of the holes, let's say this hole here, and then you're gonna measure across to either one of these holes. But when you measure, it's from the center of the starting hole to the furthest edge of whichever hole you measure to. So on this one, if we measure, it'd be 4-1/2-inches. So that's on, it's a five on 4-1/2-inch bolt pattern. Does use a wheel lug size of a 1/2-inch by 20, and the weight capacity on this wheel is 2,200 pounds. Quick delivery nice replacement wheel
Ordered a wheel to match what I already have for a spare. Beautiful wheels but inside of wheel had some damage about the size of a dime. Something smashed the alum and took paint off too. I can live with it, but I have yet to receive a wheel yet from etrailer that doesn't have some kind of damage on it which is frustrating. I do like how these wheels actually have a plastic ring around the edges on both sides to help prevent damage. That is nice to see and helps a good bit I am sure to prevent damage when shipping.
I will be ordering more of these in the future and hope I can get another 4 that are in perfect or really close to perfect shape.

Wheels look great. I need to check this weekend to insure my original center caps fit the new wheels. If so, I will order two more of the liger wheels to do a complete match on our toy hauler. Will use two of the 3 older wheels for (2) spare tires. One was destroyed by a blow out that I had no idea it happened until another driver pulled up next to me on I-10 and said I had a blow out. I have no idea how many miles I drove on 1tire. But the wheel was deatroyed.
